ICG Conducts Pollution Response Exercise (RPREX-25) in Mumbai
Conducted by Indian Coast Guard off Mumbai coast to test oil spill response preparedness.
Approach:
Two phases: Planning & tabletop, then full-scale sea exercise.
Assets used: Pollution Control Vessel, vessels with skimming systems, Mumbai Port Authority, ONGC.
Deal with L&T:
Procurement of 6 Rail-Less Helo Traversing Systems (RLHTS) for indigenously built OPVs.
RLHTS allows helicopter movement without fixed rails, enhancing safety and flexibility.
