Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) - 25 Years
Launched on 25 Dec 2000; celebrated 25th anniversary on Dec 25, 2025.
Completed ~787,520 km of rural roads, with 95% physical progress.
Objective: All-weather road connectivity to unconnected rural habitations.
Implemented by: Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).
Funding: 60:40 (except NE states & UTs with/without legislatures).
FY26 allocation: Rs 19,000 crore.
Phase IV (2024): Aims to connect 25,000 unconnected habitations; plan for 62,500 km roads during FY25-FY29 with Rs 70,125 crore.
